My name is Bob Kahn and I teach 8th grade Science at Brentwood School, a K-12 private school in Los Angeles. I have been teaching for a number of years, and in August of 2011 I discovered the power of using gaming in education. I have started an Exploratory activities class using Minecraft. In addition I have begun using it in my classroom, and encouraging other teachers to allow their students to use Minecraft for assignments. I have also begun gaming with my own two kids. Lastly, I love my dog, Lily, a half black lab mutt.
My 8th grade science students conducted an experiment to determine if the mass changes when copper and sulfur are heated together in a closed system. Some of the students constructed their histograms using Minecraft.
